TRAVILAH LOOP RIDE DECEMBER 2008
Wishing all a happy, healthy, horsey holiday season from PBHTA, a little organization with big ideas!
On December 14 a group of 15 riders headed out from Three Sisters Road to ride the old Travilah Loop, a work in progress. With the help of a $20,000 State Grant we gutted out many overgrown areas, constructed tread support where needed and realigned routes to actual recorded, legal trail easements. Patti Lessey, one of the riders rode through a critical easement graciously donated many years ago when she lived there.
Despite some poor footing spots all survived the two-hour ride and a lively tailgate cemented old friendships that support PBHTA. Next year with the help of another $10,000 State Grant proper signposts will be added and rough spots repaired to provide an easier path. Those wishing to use the Travilah Loop for now should contact PBHTA website for a ÒguideÓ as the map is not sufficient guidance yet.
Thank you everyone who helped with donations and machetes to bring the Trail to this point. We need members like YOU! Looking forward to the Potluck Party on February 21 at the home of Mike & Cheryl Doyle.
See you on the trails in 2009 !
